To date, Lisungi has successfully transported over 510 individuals, demonstrating its essential role in the community.
Legal Support and Advocacy
Navigating the legal system in a new country can be overwhelming, especially for refugees and immigrants. Lisungi Assistance Maine has connected more than 276 individuals with competent legal representation to help with immigration and residency matters. The organization also offers interpretation and translation services, assists with court fees, and provides cultural orientation to help families understand their rights, responsibilities, and pathways to legal status in the United States.
Community Healing and Trauma Support
Every week, Lisungi hosts a healing-focused support group at the Lion of Judah Tribe on Sabattus Street.
